Chronograph Movement Watch Setup
For Daytona watches:
Thanks for entrusting us with building your new watch! Let's get you accustomed to your hand-built watch and explain how to set it up.
Movement: Our Daytona watches feature the hybrid VK63 chronograph movement. They are battery powered and do not require winding like our automatic movements.
Setting the time: To set the time, unscrew the middle crown (turn it towards you) until it ‘pops’ out, then pull the crown outwards until it clicks into it’s most outer position. Now rotate the crown clockwise (away from you) to set the time. Please note that you should only rotate clockwise in this position to set the time. Rotating counter clockwise in this position may cause unnecessary strain and reduce the longevity of the movement.
Securing the crown: Now that you have finished setting up your watch. Push the crown inwards and rotate it clockwise (away from you) until it is fully screwed and secure. This is required to make sure the crown is fully closed.
Second hand: Please note that the 3rd hand(with the arrow pointer) does not function as a typical second hand. It is actually used for the chronograph feature of this watch and is why it stays stationary at the 12 o'clock position when you are not using the chronograph. The actual second hand is located at the bottom subsidiary dial.
Using the chronograph: To use the chronograph feature, first unscrew the top and bottom chronograph pushers. Use the top pusher to start and stop the chronograph and the bottom pusher to reset the chronograph back to it's original position.
After using the chronograph, please ensure that you screw the pushers back securely. This is required to ensure a proper seal.
Please note that the chronograph feature should bever be used in the rain or under water.
